Road Dedication - Hambone Way
Road Dedication - Hambone Way
On Friday, February 20, 2015 firefighter William "Hambone" Hammond will be honored for his nearly 15 years of service to the community of Wesley Chapel. A road will be dedicated in his name: Hambone Way.
Since his first call in 2000, William has been an active part of Wesley Chapel. Since that time, he has devoted his career to protecting and serving the Wesley Chapel area.
Many times we honor those who are retiring, but we would like to honor William, a firefighter who inspires.
"Hambone" has been his nickname since he stared his career and it only seems suitable that the road named in his honor read that same way. The road is located in Angus Valley North of 54 and Old Pasco Road on Foamflower Blvd., northwest of the Fire Station.
A presentation with the community, members of the Wesley Chapel Chamber, Firefighters, and Media will be held on location. The dedication/presentation will include speakers, a ribbon cutting, and picture session, and will all take place on the road itself (Hambone Way) and will be blocked off by our friends from PCSO. This should take no longer than 30 minutes. Refreshments will be served.
We appreciate William and Wesley Chapel and can't wait to honor this special Firefighter.
